To thoroughly enjoy your pond this season here are some maintenance tips for proper pond care to keep a thriving ecosystem. Pond keeping doesn’t have to be difficult but consistent care will help reduce water quality problems and fish illness. 

TESTING REGULARLY

Testing your pond with API POND MASTER TEST KIT should be a part of your weekly or monthly pond regime. Wherever the pond may be- brand new or established for year, testing will provide insight to the pond ecosystem. Bacteria go through life cycles; fish get larger and weather patterns will constantly change the ponds ecosystem from year to year. 

WEEKLY/BI-WEEKLY MAINTENANCE 

Depending on the size of your pond, maintenance can vary from weekly/bi-weekly water exchanges or servicing the filter. Removing debris from in the pond and around the pond will keep the water looking clear.
